Benefits of a Standing Desk
Every office in CoLab is furnished with at least five things: a trash can, locking pedestal, two chairs, and a motorized standing desk. Why a standing desk, you might ask? It’s no secret that most Americans spend on average over half of their day sitting, and the effects from that are even worse than you might think. According to James Levine, director of Mayo Clinic at Arizona State University, “Sitting is the new smoking.” A standing desk provides the option to not only combat the negative health effects of sitting, but also introduce health benefits. Some of those benefits are:

Burns calories
Reduces back pain
Minimizes risk of carpel tunnel
Improves circulation
Mood booster
